The Commissioner, Lagos State Police Command, Hakeem Odumosu, announced the sanction on Monday during a meeting with Area Commanders and DPOs.
The police boss re-echoed the command’s readiness to tackle and decimate criminals in the state while confirming the arrest of 50 suspected armed robbers and cultists at Imota, Igbokuta, Adamo and Emure, all in Ikorodu area of the state during a sting operation.
It was learnt that detectives attached to the Inspector General of Police Monitoring Team stormed the club in the early hours of Saturday to make the arrest after receiving a tipoff that a large crowd gathered at the club house.
The suspects were arrested by the police operatives attached to Idimu Division at the heels of the enhanced intelligence emplaced by Surulere and Idimu Divisions with a view to apprehending the suspects who are still suspected to have some arms in their possession.
The incident, which saw the Police Inspector pushed into a canal, occurred on Wednesday at about 5:30pm on International Airport Road
According to available information, Amaefula, 53, was arrested on February 22, 2021 at about 12:30am.
The spokesman of the Command, Muyiwa Adejobi, revealed this in a statement on Sunday.
Speaking on the arrest and arraignment, the Chairman of the Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences (Enforcement) Unit (Taskforce), CSP Shola Jejeloye, disclosed that the convicted fake Soldier was apprehended along with his commercial motorcycle painted in camouflage after assaulting members of the enforcement team of the Agency with other miscreants at Airport Bus Stop along Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway.
The Commissioner of Police was referring to some cases where dismissed officers and civilians parade themselves as servicing members or personnel of the Nigeria Police Force, the military and other security agencies, including those of Lagos State, to perpetrate illegal acts in the state.
The suspects attacked the deceased and inflicted injuries on him.
The protesters, including entertainer Debo Macaroni, were charged on Saturday evening for taking part in a demonstration against injustice at Lekki Toll Gate, scene of October 20, 2020, killing of protesters by armed Nigerian soldiers.
Odumosu, who arrived at the house at 10:10am, was received by the wife, children and relations of the former Governor of Lagos State.

The arrest was carried out by the operatives of the Rapid Response Squad being a follow up to the directive of the CP to its Commander, CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi, to place certain spots under surveillance and dislodge the criminals hibernating in the spots, especially at Ikeja, Agege and Alimosho.
The arrest came on the heels of the four-day surveillance on black spots in Oshodi and Alausa (Ketu), with a view to weeding out criminals in the areas, where it was reliably gathered that the suspects pretend to be load carriers in Oshodi, but abscond with travellers’ loads at dawn and at night.

The event took place on Friday at the POWA Hall, Oduduwa, Ikeja, Lagos and was witnessed by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Operations, Ahmed Kontangora; DCP Bassey Ewah, Administration; DCP Adegoke Fayoade, State CID, Panti; Assistant Commissioners of Police; senior officers, including the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Muyiwa Adejobi; and other ranks.
Odumosu disclosed this at a town hall meeting on security, held at the Ikorodu town hall, in Lagos.
