The minster made this disclosure to members of the Order of the Knights of St. Mulumba (Nigeria), the Lagos Metropolitan Council and other participants at the one-day Policy Advocacy Conference on Decongestion of Correctional Centers held to mark the 60th anniversary of the Council in Lagos on Thursday.

According to a statement by the command’s spokesman, CSP Adekunle Ajisebutu, the deceased was hit by a stray bullet when a team of detectives from the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, went on investigation activities to effect arrest of a robbery suspect in Ijeshatedo area of the state on 11th September, 2021.

In a statement by its public relations officer, CSP Adekunlel Ajisebutu, the command assured members of the public that appropriate actions would be taken against anyone found culpable at the conclusion of the investigation, “such that at the end, justice would have been served.”

The suspect, Olawale Samsudeen, 27, was arrested when he and two other members of the criminal gang attempted to rob a victim in his provisions shop at Eric Moore Close, Off Eric Moore Road, Bode Thomas.
Odumosu disclosed this on Thursday while hosting the Assistant Inspector-General [AIG] Zone 2, AIG Johnson Kokumo, who was on a familiarisation visit to the Lagos State police command.
