The minster made this disclosure to members of the Order of the Knights of St. Mulumba (Nigeria), the Lagos Metropolitan Council and other participants at the one-day Policy Advocacy Conference on Decongestion of Correctional Centers held to mark the 60th anniversary of the Council in Lagos on Thursday.

According to a statement by the command’s spokesman, CSP Adekunle Ajisebutu, the deceased was hit by a stray bullet when a team of detectives from the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, went on investigation activities to effect arrest of a robbery suspect in Ijeshatedo area of the state on 11th September, 2021.

In a statement by its public relations officer, CSP Adekunlel Ajisebutu, the command assured members of the public that appropriate actions would be taken against anyone found culpable at the conclusion of the investigation, “such that at the end, justice would have been served.”

The suspect, Olawale Samsudeen, 27, was arrested when he and two other members of the criminal gang attempted to rob a victim in his provisions shop at Eric Moore Close, Off Eric Moore Road, Bode Thomas.

Odumosu gave the order while reacting to the acts of lawlessness, recklessness and impunity being exhibited by some road users, especially okada riders, who violate traffic laws of Lagos State and operate within the six local government areas and nine Local Council Development Authorities they are restricted from.

According to the statement by the command’s public relations officer, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the suspects went for the said operation in a Toyota Camry. After the robbery operation, they had an encounter with the men of the Police Mobile Force Squadron 63, Ikorodu, and were forced to abandon their two cars and fled.
