Soun harps on national unity at Sallah

The Soun of Ogbomosoland, Oba (Dr.) Oladunni Oyewumi Ajagungbade 111, has congratulated Muslims across the country on this year’s Eid-el-Kabir.
According to the monarch, Sallah should be seen as a period of sober reflection as individuals and as a nation.
In a goodwill message signed by his Private Secretary, Toyin Ajamu, the paramount ruler said: “We are grateful to Almighty Allah who has made it possible for us to witness this year’s Eid-el-Kabir. On behalf of the good people of Ogbomoso, I extend my warmest greetings to the muslim ummah on this year’s sallah celebration. It is a period of self appraisal and rededication to the teaching and lessons of the holy Quran. We should embrace the spirit of love, togetherness and unity beyond the festive season. I admonish Nigerians to live a positive life that is committed to the service of God and humanity. May we continue to witness more celebrations in our lives. Barka de Sallah.

The paramount ruler, while urging Nigerians to pray for the success of the President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government, called on the political class to see leadership as an opportunity to serve the people and not for the accumulation of wealth, adding that the people’s welfare must be paramount in the policy thrust of government.
