Browsing: Chief Femi Fani-Kayode

I have always referred to Femi Fani-Kayode (FFK) as a “Fire-for-Fire” advocate, since February 2004 when I wrote a rejoinder to his unacceptable public outburst while he was Special Adviser on Public Affairs to the then President Olusegun Obasanjo. My rejoinder exposed the loophole in a statement Fani-Kayode had issued against Colonel Dangiwa Umar, a former military administrator of Kaduna State, and General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (IBB), over an issue they had with Obasanjo.

He was presented to President Muhammadu Buhari as the newest member of the ruling party, at the Presidential Villa on Thursday by Governor  Yobe State and Chairman of the APC’s Caretaker Committee, Governor Mai Mala Buni, and the governor of Zamfara State, Bello Matawalle.

Fani-Kayode premised his call on the testimony of an unnamed mother of a kidnapped student who claimed that Gumi facilitated a meeting with a “Fulani from Kaduna” who, with the cleric’s approval, took N800,000 from her as “transport” despite her pleading that she was a widow.

The Public Relations Officer of the Service, Dr. Peter Afunanya, said this in a statement on Friday in Abuja following the alarm raised by former Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, that there was an attempt to arrest Igboho.

According to the former Minister, the Yoruba Summit Group spokesman, Mogaji Gboyega Adejumo, and the Chief Executive Officer of Ovation Media Group, Chief Dele Momodu, on Wednesday held a meeting with the two parties where a truce was reached.
