The Adamawa State Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Rt. Rev. Mike Moses, who is also the presiding Bishop of Overcomers Faith Cathedral, Yola, has said government should have policies in place that will address humanity issues, most especially in North East Nigeria, that was badly affected by the attacks of insurgents.
Bishop Moses said this during a Sunday sermon to conclude this year’s convention of the Ministry.
It was tagged: “Real life convention through anointing that makes the difference.”
Moses said: “Politicians should adequately address issues that have to do with humanity.
“Not diverting and concentrating to issues that have no direct effects on people.”
Moses enjoined them to be fair to all, to do justice on the sharing the national cake, fair on the issues of appointments into government positions irrespective of one’s religion, region and tribe.
H said: “Justice must prevail.
“There must be justice in Nigeria.
“Let there be equal appointment and equal opportunity.
“If the government is addressing the issues of humanity, there would not be beggars amongst us.”
According to Bishop Moses, Christian politicians should be a shining light to others, bold enough to do the right thing, fearless to fight a good cause for the common people that voted them into power.
He berated politicians who do not respect the Church and God’s anointed servants, reminding them God is still at work, using his servants to accomplish his purpose on earth and as such they still have the power to stop people from becoming leaders who do not respect the church.
He also chided pastors and Christians who have suddenly become beggars because of earthly things, condemning the attitude in strong terms.
He said it is denting the image of the church.
The convention witnessed ordination of new pastors, deacons and deaconesses.
Moses charged them to pray for anointing of the Lord to always come upon them so they will make to have humility to perfectly do the work of God.
