A former Governor of Yobe State, Bukar Abba Ibrahim, is dead.
According to available information, he died in Saudi Arabia following a protracted illness at the age of 73.
Ibrahim was the Governor of Yobe State from May 29, 1999 to May 29, 2007.

Before then, he was governor of the state from January 1992 to November 1993 in the ill-fated Third Republic that was truncated by the military.
After his tenure in 2007, the members of the All Nigeria Peoples Party went to the Senate as the representative of Yobe East Senatorial District.
