All roads lead to Ibuji town in Ifedore Local Government Area of Ondo State as His Royal Majesty, Oba Sunmonu Folagbade Ojo, Onibuji of lbuji, celebrates this year’s Onibuji Festival, also known as IJESU OBA.
The festival marks the beginning of a new calendar year of the ancient town.
This was made known in a statement on Saturday by Chief Olufemi Aduloju, Agba Akin of Ibuji kingdom, which also revealed that the wife of the king, Olori Olubunmi Folagbade, will equally be crowned as EYESORUN
Aduloju explained: “It is an avenue for His Royal Majesty to pray for his subjects both home and abroad.”
He called on Ibuji sons and daughters to come home for this year’s festival.
He added: “The town has started wearing a new look as sons and daughters of Ibuji town have been arriving the town to attend the 2020 Onibuji festival.”
The festival, scheduled for September 1, at the palace of the revered traditional ruler, will have traditional chiefs, honorary chiefs, clergymen, youths, Iyalojas, Babalajes and Ondo State Government officials in attendance.
Each chief from the town quarters, market women and men, social groups and clubs, students and youths of the town will also pay homage and receive blessing from his royal Majesty during the festival.
