About 150,000 Adamawa State students who applied for scholarships to pursue their academic studies in various institutions of learning are currently being screened by the state scholarship board.
This is part of the fulfillment of the free education policy of Governor Ahmadu Fintiri’s administration.
The chairman of the State Scholarship Fund, Alhaji Salihu Belel, who disclosed this to newsmen in Yola, said the applicants cut across the 21 local government areas of the state.
He said eight committees have been constituted to go round the country to conduct screening for the applicants who applied for the scholarship, which commenced on June 15, and that payment would begin immediately after the completion of the screening.
