This was disclosed in a statement made available to newsmen  by the Public Relations Officer, LASTMA, Adebayo Taofiq.

According to the statement, the Lagos State Civil Service Commission had approved every proposal the Personnel Management Board had made about the seven LASTMA officers who had been indicted during their meeting on Tuesday, August 19, 2023.

The Acting General Manager of LASTMA,  Bakare Oki led the enforcement exercise that lasted between 6pm and 10pm.

Oki disclosed that investigations conducted revealed that despite the standard bus-stop provided by the government at Iyana-Oworo, both private and commercial bus drivers still drop and pick passengers by the road side thereby causing a serious traffic backlog for motorists on a daily basis.

Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Transportation, Olawale Musa said in a release that the new appointment is for better performance.

Musa added that the change is also to eradicate incidences of misdemeanours among staff and “continued efficient/effective traffic management on Lagos roads”
