The Police Command in Katsina State on Tuesday announced the arrest of one person suspected to be involved in the murder of the Village Head of Birchi, Alhaji Abdulkadir Muhammad.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Muhammad, an octogenarian, was killed by gunmen on Monday at his residence in Birchi, Kurfi Local Government Area of the state.
The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Aminu Sadiq, told NAN that the suspect was assisting the police in their investigation.
Sadiq said: “We do not want to reveal our strategies because other culprits can easily run away.
“I want to assure you that we are trailing the culprits still at large and we shall not rest until we get them arrested.”
The PPRO urged the general public to support the police with useful information to rid the state of criminals.
