According to credible sources within the State’s judiciary, the postponement is to allow for the swearing-in of Justice Opeyemi Oke as the Acting Chief Judge of the State.

Ambode spoke when the outgoing Chief Judge of Lagos State, Justice Olufunmilayo Atilade, paid him a courtesy visit at the Lagos House in Ikeja
Atilade, during the short ceremony, admonished the new appointees to live up to the status of their new office, in which they will be referred to as “Your Worship”.
She said her intervention particularly at the Female Prisons was part of efforts to address the problem of underage offenders being locked up in prisons across the state.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the inmates, who are below 18 years old, were arrested and prosecuted by the Lagos State Task Force on various offences such as hawking and breach of the peace.
Speaking at the commencement of the workshop organised by the State Ministry of Justice and the Judiciary in partnership with the Legal Defence Assistance Project, the Chief Judge of Lagos State, Justice Olufumilayo Atilade, said the law was an innovation geared towards enhancing the administration of Criminal Justice in the State
Atilade said the end had come to “the era of recklessness and impunity on our public roads and highways” with the inauguration of the mobile court
