Former Governor of Plateau State, Senator Joshua Chibi Dariye, has been denied access into the venue of the Peoples Democratic Party meeting in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Dariye was recently given a waiver by the National Headquarters of the PDP in Abuja as a full member of the party.
However, since then, the party in the state has refused to recognize him as her member.
Senator Dariye, who served PDP for eight years as the governor of Plateau State, decamped to the Labour Party owing to a face-off with the leadership of the PDP.
Recently, when ban was lifted for another political dispensation, Dariye and others who left the PDP in the state, decided to return to the party.
However, at a rally to receive those who were returning to the fold of the PDP, the former governor was literally humiliated with his non-recognition.
The state Chairman of the PDP, Raymond Dabo, said the party at all levels failed to accept Dariye and former Deputy Governor Pauline Tallen among the decampees because they did not follow due process.
Dabo said the party in Plateau State “is not willing to accept the former Governor Dariye because of his refusal to abide by the Constitution of the PDP”.
Trouble in Plateau State PDP was further heightened by the recent controversial decision of the state PDP to nominate a serving senator, Gyang Sunday Pwajok, against the wishes of party elders in the state as the favoured governorship aspirant.
