The Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, has ordered the release of a former National Security Adviser in the regime of former President Goodluck Jonathan, retired Colonel Sambo Dasuki, and the Publisher of Sahara Reporters, Omoyele Sowore, from detention.
Dasuki and Sowore are being detained by the Department of State Services after several courts had granted them bail.
Malami made the position of the Federal Government known in a statement on Tuesday.
He said the decision to release them was in compliance with the bail granted the two by the court.
“The two defendants are enjoined to observe the terms of their bail and refrain from engaging in any act that is inimical to public peace and national security as well as their ongoing trial which will run its course in accordance with the laws of the land,” Malami said.
