A governorship aspirant of All Progressive Congress, Senator Dayo Adeyeye, has dragged the APC, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to court over declaration of Biodun Oyebanji as winner of the primary election.
Adeyeye in the court papers obtained by our correspondent, also sued the National Chairman of the party, Governor Mai Mala Buni, the Chairman of Electoral Panel, Governor Badaru Abdullahi and acclaimed winner of the election, Biodun Oyebanji at the Federal High Court, Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State.
Adeyeye asked the Court to determine whether the conduct of the election is in agreement with the constitution and party’s guidelines; in conducting of primary nomination of party’s candidates for the 2022 Ekiti state governorship election direct primary conducted on January 27, 2022, whether it was conducted in line and total compliance with the law and guidelines.
Senator Adeyeye was among the seven aspirants who pulled out of the Governorship election when it was observed that the process of the election has been compromised.
Other aspirants in the race were Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, Kayode Ojo, Hon. Bamidele Faparunsi, Hon. Femi Bamisile
