Dana airline boosts flight operations with Boeing 737 aircraft

Dana Airlines has inaugurated a Boeing 737-500 aircraft to boost its operations, the News Agency of Nigeria reports.
Addressing newsmen on Wednesday at the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos, Dana’s Chief Operating Officer, Yvan Drewinsky, said that the airline would operate a fleet comprising the Boeing MD 83 series and the Boeing 737 brand of aircraft.
Drewinsky said that the new aircraft joins the fleet after necessary inspection and certification by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority auditors.
He noted that the plan to introduce the Boeing 737 fleet of aircraft has always been an integral part of the long term business model of the airline.
He said: “Our plan was to have two B-737 aircraft join our fleet in the last quarter of 2013 but we had to reschedule the delivery date as we were undergoing an operational audit involving the NCAA Flight Standard Group, in conjunction with their foreign partners.”
Drewinsky noted that the aircraft had undergone significant internal enhancements to ensure that passengers enjoyed a unique and outstanding onboard experience.
He added that the airline’s plan to re-fleet would be a gradual process, adding that the outcome of the operational audit carried out by the NCAA was a welcome development.
