The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara, has officially joined the Peoples Democratic Party.
Dogara defected officially from the All Progressives Congress to the PDP on Thursday as he visited the National Headquarters of the party in Abuja with his supporters.
Dogara had already picked the nomination form to return to the House of Representatives on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party.
The speaker picked the form last week, a day after dozens of his constituents travelled to Abuja from his home state of Bauchi to prevail on him to continue representing them.
Dogara said he had wanted to quit before the move by his constituents.
