Detectives attached to the Idimu Police Station in Lagos State have arrested a 33-year-old man for defiling his friend’s eight-year-old daughter.
The suspect, Okwuome Henry, who has already been charged to court, was accused of defiling his friend’s little girl.
Henry was said to have called the primary school pupil, whose parents had gone to their business places, to his apartment at Abio Frank Street under the pretence that he wanted to send her on an errand.
But on arrival, he forced the unsuspecting girl into his bed and inserted his manhood into her.
He warned her not to tell anyone.
The matter would have gone unknown but the victim’s mother noticed bloodstains on the girl’s cloth.
When the mum asked her how she came about the blood, she explained what Henry did to her.
The mother alerted Idimu Police Station and Henry was arrested.
One of the neighbours in the building where the incident took place, said: “At first, no one believed the girl because of the closeness between Henry and her parents.
“But on closer observation, it was discovered that her private part was still blood stained.
“We were all shocked because our female children used to go on errands for him.”
Henry was charged to court last week Friday, where he pleaded not guilty.
The Presiding Magistrate, J.O.E. Adeyemi, granted him bail in the sum of N250,000 with strict instruction that his two sureties must show evidence of tax payment for four years.
The case was adjourned till April 25, 2016.
