For honouring him with the national award of the Commander of Order of Niger, Governor Jonah Jang of Plateau State has pledged to deliver two million votes to ensure the re-election of President Goodluck Jonathan in the 2015 presidential election.
Jang spoke in Abuja at the reception in his honour by the state government.
He said: “President Jonathan is the president in whom all Nigerians are well pleased.”
He added: “He has done excellently well and to ensure that he wins the 2015 presidential election, Plateau State under my watch, will ensure that he gets two million votes in the presidential election next year.
“Mr. President, carry go.
“The people of the Plateau are solidly behind you.
“As PDP (Peoples Democratic Party) won all the seats at the local government elections, so shall we vote massively for in 2015.
The occasion was witnessed by a former Governor of the state, Senator Joshua Dariye, who made a moving speech, urging Jang to lift the state better than he (Dariye) left it.
Also speaking, Hon. Timothy Golu said the award was well deserved because of Jang’s leadership qualities as a leader.
Golu also said that the governor is grassroots politician who listens to his people.
