The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Oyo State, Chief Akin Oke, on Monday said the party would remain in power in the state beyond 2019.
The Chairman, who spoke with the News Agency of Nigeria in a telephone interview, expressed optimism about the chances of his party at the general elections to continue to in power in the state.
Oke said: “I have no doubt that we have done well in Oyo State and even at the federal level; the mammoth crowd that came out to welcome President Muhammadu Buhari to Ibadan on Saturday is a testimony to our good work.
“I am very optimistic that Adebayo Adelabu will be returned as the Governor-elect on March 2; we have been going round to campaign and you can see the love and turnout.
“Our incumbent Governor (Abiola Ajimobi) has made it easy for us to win with his landmark achievements in all sectors,the people of the state are happy with him and our party.
“We are quite sure of victory for President Buhari on Feb. 16 and March 2 for our gubernatorial candidate, and we promise to continue to put the people first in all our programmes.”
