In demonstration of its commitment to empowering Nigerians, Nigeria’s most innovative and customer-friendly telecommunications service company, Etisalat, recently supported The Capital Golf Invitational Tournament, a charity golf tournament, with the aim of raising assistance for the less privileged members of the society.
Commenting on the reason for supporting the worthy cause, Modupe Thani, the Head of Events and Sponsorship of Etisalat Nigeria, said the company was delighted to identify with the less privileged in the society and offer them assistance.
“We at Etisalat are delighted at this opportunity to demonstrate our human contribution to the betterment of the society,” Thani said.
In his remarks at the golf tournament and gala night, Hamid Abbo, the Captain of Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida Golf and Country Club, Abuja, lauded Etisalat for supporting the tournament, just as he announced that money raised through the registration of participants for the tournament will be donated to Ace Charity.
One of the high points of the event was the presentation of trophies to winners of various stages of the tournament with Emeka Okata receiving a giant trophy being the star prize for emerging the overall winner of the tournament.
The tournament featured a ladies’ competition, pro and amateur golf challenge, special pre-event cocktail, a gala night with entertainment and a fashion show hosted by top designers.
The tournament fused golfing excellence with lifestyle and entertainment and presented two days of exceptional golf in Abuja as golfers vied for honours at the first Capital Golf Invitational on the lush greens of IBB International Golf & Country Club.
