The British Broadcasting Corporation has announced that for the first time ever, it will air a special edition of 1Xtra Live Lounge focused on Nigerian artistes.
The show (Live Lounge) is always filmed in London.
But for the first time, this edition is shot in Lagos, Nigeria.
The edition will feature top-of-the-food-chain artists: Wizkid, 2face Idibia, rappers M.I and Eva Alordiah.
During Live Lounge, an artist performs songs (mostly original, but sometimes covers of other artistes songs), with a live band and backing vocals in a studio setting.
This edition is a collaboration between BBC 1Xtra and BBC’s African News and Current Affairs division, designed to improve the BBC’s African content.
Artists who have previously featured on BBC Radio and 1Xtra Live Lounge included Miley Cyrus, Rihanna, Akon, Justin Timberlake, Tinie Tempah, Jessie J, Usher and Adele.
