Nigerian international and captain of Sunshine Stars, Godfrey Oboabona, is confident the team will scale the hurdle of Al-Ahly in the second leg, semi-final of the Orange/CAF Champions League match on Sunday.
Speaking shortly before the team’s departure from the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos, the Super Eagles defender urged Nigerians to have faith in the team.
Oboabona, who missed the first leg due to suspension from CAF, said that the pressure will now be on the Egyptians.
He said: “This is football. Nothing is impossible. We are battle ready and I am confident we can turn things around on Sunday. I only want Nigerians to believe in us and keep faith in the team.”
A 31-man delegation of Sunshine Stars arrived Cairo on Thursday evening aboard Egypt Air.
On arrival, the Nigerian team received good reception from the Egyptians.
The match is scheduled to hold 6.30pm at Military Stadium, Cairo on Sunday.
The first leg encounter played a fortnight ago at the Dipo Dina International Stadium; Ijebu Ode ended 3-3.
The result places the Egyptians at advantage of progressing to the final.
