Two Nigerians: Emmanuel Sejilola and Damilola Odunoren, were among members of a criminal gang, Rolex Ripper, arrested for targeting luxury watch owners in the United Kingdom.
According to available information, the arrests were carried out by undercover officers of Scotland Yard.
The Daily Mail reported that the squad of undercover officers posed as victims in an unprecedented sting to capture the Rolex Rippers responsible for a spate of violent watch muggings across the capital.

The Telegraph UK said 300 watches to the value of £4 million were stolen in six months as parts of “organised opportunist” attacks in central London.

The report said gangs with specialist knowledge of luxury watches commonly steal brands, including Rolex, Audemars Piguet and Patek Philippe from “vulnerable” individuals who are under the influence of alcohol or alone.
