Well, we are not here to look into the costs and benefits of this new addition at a time when Nigerians are clamouring for a review of the cost of the machinery of the government and the implementation of the Oronsaye Report on the cost of governance. Our focus is on the strategic relationship between government and citizens, as explored in ‘Media, democracy and the public interest’.

The award was bestowed on the Publisher at the Nigerian Institute of Journalism, Ogba, Lagos State.

According to the letter sent to the media practitioner by the organisers of the event and signed by the Chairman, Advisory Board Governing Council, Nigeria Media Network in conjunction with Daily Pride Communications, Dr. Agnes NyumahBokai, and others, the award was conferred on the National Waves boss on account of his untainted years of experience and for great achievements vis a vis rising to the zenith of the journalism profession through dint of hard work and doggedness

The esteemed accolade comes from Brand Africa 100: Africa’s Best Brands, an independent consumer-led survey that recognises brands preferred by African consumers across the continent. The survey also ranked DStv as the fourth “Top African Pride Brand” while it ranked 40th in the Top 100 list of “Most Admired Brands in Africa” category.
