“I know that no political or traditional personality will think otherwise or kick against the choice of Aare Gani Adams based on his antecedents as a fearless fighter for the Yorubas and a reputable cultural promoter.
According to the monarch, he has done his own bit in addressing the division among the Yoruba race by doing what the people wanted in giving them the Aare Ona Kakanfo of their choice.
In a congratulatory message from the Council to the Aare designate, the Obas said: “Your proclamation as Aare Ona Kakanfo did not come as a surprise but the news was received with enthusiasm and joy given your antecedent as a remarkable Yoruba man who is passionate about the cause of yoruba and who has been in the Vanguard of fighting for the emancipation of the Yoruba nation and protecting her interest through peaceful means.”
Speaking through its national spokesperson, Okereafor Bestman Opeyemi, during a solidarity visit to the Lagos home of Adams, the students applauded his choice as the new Aare Ona Kakanfo
