According to the Area Commander of Omuma Area Command, ACP Benjamin Abang, based on information received that bandits were sighted moving in convoy into Omuma Town, he immediately alerted the tactical teams of the command who launched an attack on the bandits’ convoy.
The bandits had abducted 138 pupils from the school in May.

It was also gathered that several bandits also escaped with gun wounds and also carried corpses of their members away.
The affected communities, according to Channels TV, are Badarawa, Maberaya, Kware and Kurya.

A statement issued by the state government revealed that the bandits, on Monday, shot sporadically as they advanced to the school’s hostels and abducted an unspecified number of students.
The school owned by the Living Faith Church Worldwide, better known as Winner Chapel, was founded by Bishop David Oyedepo.
The Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, made this known in a statement.
Among the victims were four persons kidnapped and shot to death by the bandits at Tsohon Gayan community in Chikun Local Government Area, while another two were also killed at Iri Station in Kajuru Local Government Area.
