The Senate on Thursday began investigation into invasion of a courtroom by operatives of the Department of State Services last week Friday.
This was contained in a letter read on the floor of the Senate by the Senate President, Senator Ahmad Lawan.

Lawan disclosed this at the two-day National Summit on Diminishing Corruption in the Public Sector in Abuja.
The request was contained in a letter addressed to the President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, and read on the floor during plenary.
“This ninth National Assembly is a different National Assembly,” Lawan told members of the University of Maiduguri Alumni Association at the weekend.
Lawan lauded the late sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, for his foresight in floating what is today Nigeria’s oldest private media outfit with the initial primary objective to project nationalist ideals at a time Nigerians battled to break the yoke of colonialism.
Lawan said the assemblies at both state and national levels should continue to exchange ideas on how to support lawmaking.
The Senate Minority Leader, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, made attempt to delay the approval of the loan, arguing that with the election on Saturday, it will be appropriate for the approval to be delayed till next week

The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project has filed a lawsuit in the Federal High Court, Abuja “seeking leave to apply for judicial review and an order of mandamus to direct and compel President Muhammadu Buhari, Senate President Ahmed Lawan, and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila to disclose details of allocations, disbursement and spending of security votes by the Federal Government, 36 state governors and 774 local governments between 1999 and 2019.”
Lawan, in his goodwill message, urged Muslims and Nigerians in general to imbibe the virtues of peace, tolerance, justice and love for one another as exemplified by Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
