Young Lions Rugby Football Club based at the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos will kick off its 2012 Season with a month beginners’ training from today.
The Beginners Training programme, according to the Head Coach, Ntiense Williams, popularly called Mr. Rugby, will afford all interested rugby enthusiasts, the opportunity to learn the beautiful game of rugby for free.
According to Williams: “We will run the beginners rugby training programmes on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5pm to 7pm and on Saturdays from 8am to 10am at the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos for one month.
“This programme is always used to bring in new rugby players and those who just want to learn about the sports. They may want to be involved in the technical aspect of the sport, such as coaching or officiating and we help to facilitate their entrance into the world of rugby. We also provide rugby tapes, which also help to generate interest from the individuals for the sport.”
In the past, the programme had brought in to the game some individuals who are now playing and some are involved with the officiating aspect of the game.
