Osun poll: Delta APC, others plot solidarity rally for Aregbesola

The Delta State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has mobilized a mother of all rallies solidarity visit to boost the re-election bid of Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State.
The party, in the same vein, took the ruling Peoples Democratic Party in the state to the cleaners for passing what it tagged “unpalatable comments” on the Osun State governorship race.
The arch-rival party’s anger may not be unconnected with Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan’s Mid-Term briefing when he declared the ruling party as the number one party in the state and Nigeria at large.
The APC is also angry that Uduaghan said the victory of the PDP in Ekiti State would be replicated “very soon” in Osun state.
In a statement signed by its Publicity Secretary, Isaac Adaka Adakpo, made available to The Eagle Online in Asaba, the APC wondered why Governor Uduaghan and others were still basking in the euphoria of the Ekiti State victory despite its poor conduct.
While Adakpo said the leadership crisis rocking the party had been resolved in Effurun at the instance of Olorogun O’tega Emehor, a 2015 governorship hopeful of the party, and described the re-election bid of Aregbesola as a “fiat accompli”, he said the APC state chairmen had concluded plans to storm Osun State in solidarity with the performing governor.
He said: “In a mother of all rallies, Prophet Jones Ode-Erue (Delta State chairman of the APC) will be leading all APC chairmen to bless the fiat accompli, victory for the broom party APC, which has swept new life and goodies of democracies into the lives of the masses of the people of Osun State.
“Back home in Delta state, the 16-member State Working Committee of the party, has resolved and poised to give leadership to the party and fight the 15 years of barrenness and sinister umbrella politics in the state.”
According to him, what transpired during the Ekiti State governorship election was a sham, maintaining that “there wasn’t any success in Ekiti election. The officers deployed to the state were overzealous.”
