Lobi Stars Football Club on Sunday at the Aper Aku Stadium in Makurdi defeated Go Round FC of Port Harcourt 1-0 in the ongoing 2017/2018 Nigeria Professional Football League.
Samad Kabiri scored the lone goal of the match in the 31st minute of the game, for his team to earn the three points.
The Head Coach of Lobi Stars FC, Solomon Ogbeide, told the News Agency of Nigeria after the match that his team deserved the three points because they played well.
Ogbide said: “We have set a standard and we will continue to play hard in order to get our normal three points at home.
“As the season continues, we will garner our points first and work on technical issues and tactics later. It’s a process.’’
The Head Coach of Go Round FC, Ngozi Elechi, on his part also praised his team, saying “we are very optimistic of doing well’’.
He told NAN that his team played well even as they failed to utilise the goal scoring chances they had in the match.
