A month-long ICT summer boot camp for kids between the ages of 10 to 17 aimed at stimulating children into the world of ICT is scheduled to hold in Lagos this summer from July 31 to September 1, 2017.
The fun filled event, tagged: “Tech Whizz,” put together by the African Diaspora TV in conjunction with London School of Information Technology and Olawoyin Awosika School of Innovative Studies, is designed to provide the lucky pupils with special ICT skills and promises to transform them to better beings.
Part of the package include tutor-led solution demonstration, IT diaspora interaction, collaboration skills, special attractions, group work and interaction , personalized training, interactive games, out door games, entertainment, fitness zone, series of tech challenges that allow children to consolidate and keep learning and lots more.

One of the major promoters, Sam Fatiregun, speaks on the rationale: “Children must go digital to fully participate, benefit and make headway in today’s world. To create a better future, we must start showing genuine interest in guiding, inspiring, and protecting children and young people in Information and communications technology.
“African children must be active participants in using ICT to drive change and accelerate develop and we must therefore start exposing our children to ICT products in order to encourage their familiarity with new technologies and the desire to develop software programmes and applications.”
The programme, which is billed to take place later in major cities across Nigeria such as Abuja, Rivers and Oyo States, is using Lagos as a pilot phase.
