Preparations are being concluded for the sixth edition of the annual EniObanke Music Festival, EMUfest 2015, which holds betweenNovember 5 and 14.
According to the organisers, the festival, which alternates venues, begins on November 5 with a Songwriting and Percussion workshop for all ages, followed by a Talent Night where over 25 emerging musicians will showcase their works with a live band.
Both events are slated to take place at EniObanke Arts Centre, GRA, Ikeja, Lagos at 11am and 5pm respectively.
On November 6, EMUfest 2015 shifts base to Ijebu-jesa, Osun State, where the townspeople and visitors will get to enjoy performances by legendary highlife artiste, Chris Ajilo, Beautiful Nubia and others as part of the town’s annual heritage celebration called Egboro Day.
This concert will hold at Ijebu-jesa Town Hall from 5pm until late in the evening.
The festival train rolls into Ibadan on November 7, with a concert scheduled to hold at Alliance Francaise, Iyaganku from 5pm until 9pm.
The train chugs back to EniObanke Arts Centre on November 8 for the EMUfest Grand Concert, which will be headlined by the highly acclaimed storyteller, dramatist and musician, ‘Baba Agba’ Jimi Solanke, Beautiful Nubia and many others folk music innovators.
The event holds between 3pm and 9pm.
However, unlike previous years, the Grand Concert will not mark the end of this year’s festival.
On November 14, EMUfest will feature a special concert as part of the annual Lagos Book and Art Festival.
