Herdsmen finger Governor Suswam in Fulani attacks

The National Vice President of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association, Alhaji Hussaini Yusuf Bosso, has accused the Benue State Governor, Gabriel Suswam, for their woes in the state, alleging that the hostility against them was in compliance with the directive of the governor.
Bosso said 134 Fulani herdsmen as well as 11,915 cattle were killed in three northern states of the country in the last three months.
The association leader blamed the woes of his people in Benue State on an alleged pronouncement by Suswam that he does not want see Fulani herdsmen in the state, hence the massacre of the their members in these three states.
According to him: “All these atrocities were perpetrated by Tiv people.
“To our surprise, the police are aware but did not do anything to avert the ugly development.
“Not only the Police are adamant over the matter, the respective governments of the affected states too.”
Suswam’s convoy on Tuesday came under attack from some gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen at Tse Akenyi in Benu State on his way to a camp of displaced persons in Guma Local Government Area of the state.
Bosso, who spoke on Wednesday in Minna, identified Benue, Plateau and Taraba States as the places where their members were gruesomely murdered.
He said the association recorded the highest casualty in Benue State, with the killing of 82 herdsmen and 6,700 cattle, while 43 Fulani men and 4,682 cattle were lost in Plateau State and nine lives and 533 cattle were terminated in Taraba State.
Bosso complained that the heinous crime against his members in Benue and Taraba States was allegedly carried out by the Tiv ethnic group while they are victims of the Beromo people of Plateau State.
Bosso then appealed to the government of the three states to as a matter of urgency bring to an end of the seemingly killing of innocent Fulani herdsmen.
