A guardian, Temitope Adetanju, has been arrested by operatives of the Ogun State Police Command for inserting a wood into the private part of her 12-year-old female ward.
According to information available to The Eagle Online on Thursday, she was picked up on June 11 at about 11am.
Adetanju was arrested by a team deployed by the Divisional Police Officer, Obada Oko Divisional Police Headquarters shortly after the incident occurred.
According to police sources, the 12-year-old girl, from Isewo Obada Oko, was severely beaten and had a piece of firewood inserted into her private area by her 25-year-old guardian.

On receipt of the distress report, the Divisional Police Officer deployed the Officer in Charge of Juvenile Welfare Center to apprehend the suspect.
Following information provided by Adetanju, the ward was discovered to have stolen items including biscuits worth N200, Milo worth N150, and Mr. Fruit worth N300.
The spokesperson, Ogun State Police Command, Omolola Odutola, confirmed the arrest of Adetanju.
Odutola, a Superintendent of Police, said she has since admitted to committing the crime, adding that investigation was ongoing.
