Fenerbahce has opened contractual negotiations with Super Eagles striker, Emmanuel Emenike.
A board member of the Turkish giants, Talat Yılmaz, revealed this on the club’s website on Sunday.
“We are in talks with Emenike and we hope to reach an agreement with him by next week,” Yılmaz said.
“The transfer fee will be covered by the board members and close associates of the club.”
The Nigerian international was signed by Fenerbahce for €9 million in 2011.
He, however, was sold to Spartak Moscow for €10 million without playing a single game following his suspected involvement in the match-fixing scandal, which rocked the country last season.
Fenerbahçe would have had to sell a foreign player to accommodate Emenike were the transfer to be completed because the Turkish Football Federations will only permit 10 foreign players per-club in the 2013-14 season.
The Yellow Canaries currently have 11 non-Turkish players on their books.
