The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, was on Tuesday an unexpected guest at the Murtala Muhammad International Airport, Lagos.
The visit came on the heels of the discovery of a coronavirus patient in the state on Tuesday.
The 30-year-old lady was said to have arrived in Nigeria on March 13, 2020 via the MMIA aboard a British Airways flight.
The index case in the country, an Italian, also came in through the airport from Milan, Italy.
The Italian, who is still in isolation, infected a worker in Ogun State, making him the second case in Nigeria.
After the discovery of the third case, Sanwo-Olu headed in the direction of the airport to oversee the screening of inbound passengers.
He was there with his Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi; Lagos State Head of Service, Hakeem Muring-Okunola; and officials of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria.
