The Honourable Minister of Youth Development, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, has expressed deep sadness over the demise of the Vice Chancellor of the University of Lagos, Prof. Adetokunbo Babatunde Sofoluwe.
Sofoluwe died recently of heart attack at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, after collapsing in his office.
An alumnus of the University, Abdullahi described the late Vice Chancellor as a thoroughbred academic and professional who contributed greatly to the development of Nigeria’s education system.
Abdullahi recalled that the late VC was the third alumnus of the University of Lagos to lead it and that he did his best to advance the cause of knowledge and scholarship.
He further praised the late Vice Chancellor as an astute administrator whose innovations and ideas helped move UNILAG to its enviable position, noting that he would be would be greatly missed.
