An Ado-Ekiti Magistrates’ Court in Ekiti State on Wednesday remanded three students of the School of Nursing, Federal Teaching Hospital, Ido-Ekiti in prison custody over alleged murder.
The accused are Olumuyiwa Adeyemi, 26; Ayobami Ajelabi, 19; and Tosin Smart, 28.
The prosecutor, Inspector Bayo Ajiboye, told the court that the accused committed the offence on October 1along lfaki-ldo Road in Ido-Ekiti.
Ajiboye said the accused on the fateful day unlawfully murdered one Seun Adebayo, a student of the same school.
According to him, the offence is punishable under Section 319 of the Criminal Code, Cap. C 16, Law of Ekiti State, 2004.
He said the case file had been forwarded to the office of the Directorate of Public Prosecutions for advice.
The pleas of the accused were not taken.
Counsel to the accused, Busuyi Ayorinde, pleaded for adjournment, pending the outcome of the legal advice from the DPP.
Magistrate Modupe Afeniforo consequently ordered that the accused be remanded in prison custody and adjourned the case till December 11 for further hearing.
