Wingless Eagles fail Iran test

Super Eagles were held to a scoreless draw in their Group F opener against Iran on Monday.
The tie produced the first draw at the ongoing Brazil 2014 World Cup.
Miscued shots from distance and crosses sliced out for goal-kicks summed up a dire display from both teams, although there is no doubt Team Melli, under the stewardship of Carlos Queiroz, were the happier of the two nations.

And the former Newcastle striker almost put the Super Eagles ahead but he glanced the ball just past the upright with a diving header.
But in the end neither side was able to break the deadlock in a dire affair and the spoils were shared in Group F, giving Bosnia, who were defeated 2-1 by Argentina on Sunday, hope they can qualify for the round of 16.
