Rigobert Song, Cameroon’s Chief Coach, says his team should still earn credits after losing to Nigeria’s Super Eagles on Saturday in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations Round of 16.
Song told newsmen at a post-match news conference that he had the youngest team in the tournament.
He added that they were still a work in progress.
He said: “There are players we are just discovering.
“But we gave our opponents (the Super Eagles) the opportunity to put us in difficulty.
“But it’s part of the game.”
The former defender however insisted that they were a team in reconstruction and it was by making mistakes that they would grow.

The Coach of the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon said: “Football is like that.
“The AFCON is a competition that is played on all levels: technical, tactical and especially mental.
“I have a youthful team that is discovering itself.
“It played, and we still have a lot to learn.”
