This was revealed on Wednesday by the Advisory Board for the prize, chaired by Prof. Alfred Akpoveta Susu, at a virtual hand over ceremony.
Under the MOU, the United States through the President’s Malaria Initiative (PMI), will provide technical assistance to the NLNG-led Bonny Island Malaria Elimination Project. The partnership seeks to bring malaria deaths to zero in the community of 300,000 and make the island Nigeria’s first malaria-free zone.

NLNG was recognised for outstanding contributions to the gas industry in Nigeria.

In the past few weeks, it costs between N4,200 and N4,500 to refill a 12.5kg cylinder of cooking gas, up from between N3,600 and N3,800.
NLNG was recognised for its annual scholarship schemes which have benefited Nigerian students at Post-Primary, Undergraduate and Post-graduate education levels.
The MoU was signed in Bonny by NLNG’s Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Engr. Tony Attah, on behalf of the company and JBN’s Managing Director, Dr. Lars Richter, on behalf of JBN in the presence of the Amanyanabo of Grand Bonny Kingdom, His Majesty, King Edward Asimini William Dappa Pepple III, Perekule XI.
