Hajiya Maryam Ado Bayero, also the mother of Emir of  Bichi, Basiru Ado Bayero, died on Saturday.

The Forum also expressed sadness on the death of Hajiya Maryam Ado-Bayero, mother of the Emirs of Kano and Bichi.

The Chairman of the forum and Governor of Plateau, Simon Lalong, described the incident as an act of wickedness and barbaric, saying the perpetrators must not go unpunished.

Reacting to the death of Ado Bayero’s widow, Atiku described the deceased as a personification of motherhood and strong family values that saw her children rising to prominence and behaving as true reflection of their upbringing.

In a condolence statement issued in Abuja on Saturday, President Buhari said that “the passing of Hajiya Maryam Ado Bayero is a great shock and a big loss to the late Emir’s family.”
