Announcing the results in Jos on Sunday, the chairman of the Commission, Fabian Ntung, said that the candidates of the ruling All Progressives Congress won all the chairmanship seats in the 17 council areas.

Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau State has sworn in 11 newly elected local government chairmen, few hours after the state electoral commission declared them winners of the council polls conducted on Wednesday.
Lalong said this shortly after casting his vote at the Ajikamai polling unit in Shendam Local Government Area of the state on Wednesday.
The PLSIEC Chairman, Fabian Ntung, disclosed this to newsmen on Tuesday shortly after a closed door meeting with heads of political parties at the commission’s Head quarters in Jos.
Its Chairman, Fabian Ntung, who announced the decision while briefing newsmen in Jos, said that it was “based on a communication from the Plateau State Security Council”.
Nelson Ananze, the Acting Executive Director of the organisation, made its position known in an interview with newsmen on Saturday in Jos.
