There was drama in the Senate on Tuesday as bill to change the name of Barkin Ladi Local government in Plateau state to Gwul local government suffered setback as it was unable to get the required number.
Gwul is an indigenous name of the people in Plateau state while Barkin Ladi is an Hausa’s name.
The failure of the bill might be part of the meeting held on Monday by the Northern Senators.
Sixty-seven Senators voted in favour while 23 Senators kicked against it.
The bill failed to get the required number of votes that will make the chamber to get it passed.
