Osun PDP suspends Omisore, others

The Osun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party has suspended Senator Iyiola Omisore for engaging in anti-party activities.
In a statement signed by the state Chairman of the party, Hon. Soji Adagunodo, the party accused the former senator of divisive and disruptive activities.
Adagunodo said this has led to the weakening of the party in the state.
The statement said: “For engaging in anti party activities and constituting illegal parallel executives in Local governments in Osun state as well as decimating the membership of the PDP in the state, Osun state chapter of the PDP has suspended Senator Iyiola Omisore and four other members of the party.
Adagunodo said the decision was reaches at the State Executive Committee meeting of the party at the party’s Secretariat at Biket Junction, Osogbo.
The statement said the state executive committee received a recommendation for the suspension of Onisore from various wards to local governments and senatorial district.
Among those also suspended were Dr. Bayo Faforiji, Senator Iyiola Omisore, Rev. Bunmi Jenyo, Chief Ojo Williams and Hon. Bade Falade.
The statement, jointly signed by Adagunodo and the Secretary, Prince Bola Ajao, noted that having considered the recommendation of the displinary committee that Omisore should rather concentrate his effort on clearing the mess he has plunged himself into with his ongoing prosecution by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and after repaying the loot, he can come back to participate in the affairs of the party.
Also, Faforiji, Williams, Jenyo and Falade were recommended for suspension from participating in party activities for a month in the first instance.
The statement added: “In accordance with the provisions of the PDP constitution and inherent powers vested on the the State executive committee of the Party, the said individuals are hereby suspended as recommended.”
