Election materials for the August 9 governorship election in Osun State would arrive the state as planned and would be distributed on time, Olusegun Agbaje, the state Resident Electoral Commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission, has promised.
Agbaje gave the assurance on Sunday in Osogbo in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria.
He said that preparations were underway to ensure the materials arrived few days before the election as scheduled.
He said INEC would ensure even distribution of the materials to the appropriate quarters.
He said that the commission would also ensure distribution of the materials were completed early enough before the election.
Agbaje said that sensitive ballot papers would be kept at the Central Bank of Nigeria branch in the state for safety.
The commissioner pledged that the commission would do its best to conduct a credible, free and fair election.
