Aishatu Onwaaza Usman, mother of the Editor-In-Chief of online newspaper, Greenbarge Reporters, Yusuf Ozi-Usman, is dead.
According to available information, the 86-year-old died in her son’s residence on Sunday in Abuja during a prolonged illness.
She has been in Abuja with Ozi-Usman since 2013.
In a statement on behalf of the Ondeku family, Ozi-Usman said the deceased lost her husband, Usman Eneji Ondeku, in 1982.
Aishatu Onwaaza Usman is survived by other two children: Hajara and Abdulrahman, grand and great grand children, step children and other relatives.
She was buried Sunday according to Islamic tradition.
In a related development, the Guild of Corporate Online Publishers on Sunday paid a condolence visit to Ozi-Usman, a member of the Guild.
The Deputy President of GOCOP, Danlami Nmodu, mni, was at the head of the delegation to the Online Publisher, Nmodu, the Publisher of Newsdiaryonline, was accompanied by another senior member of the Guid, Mallam Hassan Gimba, Publisher of Neptune Prime.
The delegation prayed that Allah will grant Ozi-Usman’s mother Aljanat Firdaus and also asked God to give the family the fortitude to bear the loss.
In his reaction, Ozi-Usman expressed gratitude to GOCOP for the condolence visit.
