Ondo FA declares congress by suspended members illegal

The Ondo State Football Association, Ondo FA, led by Dele Ajayi on Monday said that the congress held by its suspended members was illegal.
This was contained in a statement issued by the Secretary of the FA, Alex Daudu, and made available to newsmen in Akure.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Dele Ologbese, the suspended Vice Chairman of the association, had convened a congress where he was presented as acting chairman of the association.
But Daudu said that the association had its last congress on June 26, 2016, contrary to the communique issued by Ologbese dated July 30, 2018.
He said that Ajayi remained the authentic chairman of the FA in the state and had not given permission to anybody or persons to convene any congress on his behalf.
Daudu also reiterated that the suspension of Ologbese, Dotun Omo-Ogun, Kehinde Ademulegun, Zion Ogunfeyimi and Ogidi Ajayi was still in place.
Ologbese had purportedly organised a congress where he accused Ajayi of holding meetings with non-FIFA recognised groups at variance to NFF Executive Committee without approval.
