Wife of Rep. Ibrahim Obanikoro, (APC-Eti-Osa, Lagos State) Fatima Obanikoro, is protesting, saying women are yet to get adequate attention in the country.
Obanikoro, the Founder of FIBOCARES Foundation, disclosed this while empowering and reaching out to about 500 women on healthcare at Eti-Osa and environs in Lagos.
The event was tagged: “Women’s Wellness, Mental Health and HIV Awareness at Iru Victoria Island Local Council Development Area.
The event featured free medical check up, eye check up, free distribution of vitamin supplements, food stuff and seasonings.
Obanikoro said: “To be honest, I am a woman and obviously, I feel like women are not really being given the required attention.
“In the position that I am in, I feel it is a good opportunity for me to reach out to these women. This is an avenue for them to be happy.
“Every year we pick a topic and then reach out to women in Eti-Osa. In 2021, we had an empowerment to help women in the area of vocational training” she added.
