The Lagos State Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations is to host Femi Adesina, the President, Nigerian Guild of Editors, on October 3.
A statement signed by the institute’s Chairman, Joseph Okommah, said that the event would take place at the Nigerian Institute of Medical Research, Yaba.
The theme of the clinic is: “Public Relations and media partnership”.
The statement said that the forum would focus on effective ways of using media tools for communication.
Okommah said: “Public Relations is an integral part of mass communication.
“Thus, anyone interested in effective public relations practice today must be conversant with virtually all the elements and tools of mass communication and media studies.
“Some of these elements include advertising, publishing, print, and broadcast journalism.
“The tools of mass communication are the channels of communication known as the mass media.
“The main tools are the newspapers, magazines, radio, television, the Internet, as well as the social media.
“For effective practice, modern professionals need to know the importance of communication and the effectiveness of each of the tools which may be employed in the focused environment.”
